Over 65 matches attended our “Got Culture” event on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Roosevelt University. Bigs and Littles participated in some fun and interactive workshops centered around celebrating Chicago’s rich culture. Dance instructors from Graffiti Rhythms engaged the matches in a high energy hip hop dance workshop teaching them the basic street style choreography to the latest dance craze, “Watch Me (Whip Nae Nae)”.

Meanwhile matches also got to explore their creative sides in an art workshop facilitated by professional teaching artists from ArtReach. Matches worked on a collaborative art project in which each Big and Little shared their match story by creating a collage of their match using pictures of their match and magazines. Matches also had the opportunity to participate in a fast-paced outdoor scavenger hunt led by ArtReach staff. Our matches broke up into small teams and had a great time on the scavenger hunt working together to complete specific photo challenges while exploring a few cultural points of interest around the loop.
